1. Who these terms apply to
These terms govern every booking made with LimoX ("LimoX", "we", "us") through https://limox-eg.com, our mobile applications, our phone line or WhatsApp. By requesting a ride you accept them on behalf of yourself and everyone travelling with you.
We operate a chauffeur-driven private hire service. We are not a taxi service, we do not accept street hails, and every journey must be arranged in advance through one of the channels above.
2. Definitions
- Booking
- A ride request you have submitted and we have confirmed in writing.
- Journey
- The trip from the agreed pickup point to the agreed destination.
- Chauffeur
- The professionally trained driver we assign to your booking.
- Client
- The person or organisation who makes and pays for the booking.
- Quoted price
- The total we confirm to you in writing before the journey begins.
3. Booking and confirmation
A request submitted through our website, app or messaging channels is an offer, not a contract. A booking exists only once we confirm it to you in writing by email or WhatsApp with a reference number.
It is your responsibility to give us an accurate pickup address, contact number, passenger count and luggage count. We assign a vehicle based on what you tell us, and we cannot guarantee we can carry passengers or luggage beyond the numbers on the confirmation.
We may decline or cancel a booking where the request is unlawful, unsafe, outside our coverage area, beyond the capacity of our fleet on that date, or where we cannot verify the payment.
4. Pricing and payment
We quote a fixed total before you confirm. There is no meter and no surge pricing: the price we confirm is the price you pay, provided the journey runs as booked. All prices are in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) and include applicable taxes unless the quotation states otherwise.
The quoted price includes:
- The vehicle and chauffeur for the agreed route and duration
- Fuel or charging, tolls and standard parking on the route
- The complimentary waiting time set out in section 5
- Child seats, where requested at the time of booking
The quoted price does not include:
- Extra stops, route changes or waiting beyond the complimentary allowance
- Additional hours added to an hourly or daily booking on the day
- Gratuities, which are entirely at your discretion
- Cleaning or damage charges under section 7
Card payments are processed by our payment gateway. We never see or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. Corporate accounts may be invoiced monthly under a separate written agreement, payable within the terms stated on the invoice.
5. Waiting time
Every booking includes complimentary waiting time at the pickup point, measured from the scheduled pickup time:
- Airport arrivals
- 60 minutes from the moment the flight lands
- All other pickups
- 15 minutes from the scheduled pickup time
Waiting beyond the complimentary allowance is charged in 15-minute increments at the rate quoted for your vehicle class. Your chauffeur will contact you before any waiting charge begins.
If you have not appeared and cannot be reached 30 minutes after the complimentary allowance ends, the booking is treated as a no-show under section 9 of our Refund and Exchange Policy.
6. Changes and cancellation
Changes to the date, time, pickup point or destination are free of charge when requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup, subject to availability. Later changes are treated as a cancellation and a new booking.
Cancellation rights, refund tiers and the process for requesting a refund are set out in full in our Refund and Exchange Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Your responsibilities as a passenger
While travelling with us, you and your guests agree to:
- Wear a seatbelt at all times, as required by Egyptian law
- Refrain from smoking, vaping or consuming alcohol or illegal substances in the vehicle
- Carry no illegal, dangerous, flammable or prohibited items
- Supervise children and ensure any child under the legal age uses an appropriate seat
- Treat the chauffeur and the vehicle with reasonable care and respect
Where a vehicle requires specialist cleaning or repair because of a passenger's conduct, we will charge the documented cost of that cleaning or repair, together with the value of any bookings lost while the vehicle is out of service. We will send you photographic evidence and an itemised invoice before charging.
A chauffeur may refuse to begin or may end a journey where a passenger is behaving unlawfully, threatening the safety of the vehicle or its occupants, or is unable to travel safely. In those circumstances no refund is due.
8. Our responsibilities
We undertake to:
- Provide a licensed, insured and roadworthy vehicle of the class you booked, or a higher class at no extra cost
- Assign a professionally trained, background-checked chauffeur
- Arrive at the agreed pickup point at the agreed time
- Carry the passengers and luggage stated on your confirmation
- Maintain valid commercial insurance for every journey
Where the vehicle you booked becomes unavailable, we will supply a vehicle of equal or higher specification. If we can supply neither, you may cancel for a full refund under our Refund and Exchange Policy.
9. Luggage and personal property
Luggage is carried on the basis of the counts given at the time of booking. Your chauffeur will assist with loading and unloading, but you remain responsible for your own property throughout the journey.
Items left in a vehicle are logged and held securely for 30 days. Contact us at info@limox-eg.com to arrange collection or delivery; a delivery fee may apply. We cannot accept responsibility for cash, jewellery, documents or electronics left unattended in a vehicle.
10. Delays and matters outside our control
We plan routes with buffer for normal Cairo traffic and we absorb ordinary delay at no cost to you. We are not liable for losses caused by events genuinely beyond our control, including severe weather, road closures, accidents on the route, civil unrest, strikes, government action or a failure of public infrastructure.
Where such an event prevents us from performing a booking at all, we will refund it in full. We do not, however, cover consequential losses such as missed flights, missed meetings or non-refundable reservations. We strongly recommend allowing sensible margin before time-critical commitments, and we are happy to advise on departure times when you book.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under Egyptian law.
Subject to that, our total liability arising out of any single booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
12. Complaints
If something falls short, tell us within 14 days of the journey at info@limox-eg.com with your booking reference. We acknowledge every complaint within one business day and aim to resolve it within five business days.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute that cannot be resolved between us will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cairo.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you make a booking is the version that governs that booking. Material changes will be noted by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
