Privacy policy.

What we collect when you book a journey, why we need it, who it reaches, and the control you keep over it.

1. Who is responsible for your data

LimoX, of Cairo, Egypt, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Questions, requests and complaints go to info@limox-eg.com.

This policy covers our website, our mobile applications, and the enquiries we receive by phone, email and WhatsApp.

2. What we collect

3. How we collect it

  • Directly from you, through the booking and contact forms, the app, phone calls and messages
  • Automatically, through our web server logs when you visit the site
  • From a corporate client, where your employer books a journey on your behalf

Our address fields use the Google Places API to suggest locations as you type. Suggestions are requested through our own server, so your search text reaches Google without your browser exposing our API credentials, and we do not retain the partial text you typed before selecting a place.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Who your data reaches

Each processor acts on our written instructions and may use your data only to deliver the service we have engaged them for.

6. Transfers outside Egypt

Some of the providers above operate servers outside Egypt. Where data is transferred internationally, we use providers that commit contractually to protection standards equivalent to those required under Egyptian data protection law.

7. How long we keep it

8. How we protect it

  • The entire site is served over HTTPS with a valid certificate
  • Booking and contact submissions are transmitted encrypted and validated server-side
  • Card data never touches our servers; it goes directly to our PCI-DSS compliant gateway
  • API credentials are held server-side and are never exposed to your browser
  • Access to customer records is limited to the staff who need it to do their job

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the competent authority without undue delay.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep
  • Restrict or object to a particular use, including any profiling
  • Provide your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw a consent you previously gave, without affecting what was lawful before

Write to info@limox-eg.com with the detail of your request. We respond within 30 days and we do not charge for a reasonable request. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.

10. Cookies

Our website uses only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to make it function — for example, remembering the details you have entered into a booking form so a page reload does not lose them. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.

Our mobile applications store your session and preferences on your device. Clearing the app's data removes them.

11. Children

Our service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 except the first name and age of a child travelling on a booking made by an adult, which we use solely to fit the correct child seat. If you believe we hold a child's data without a proper basis, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect, and material changes will be communicated to active customers by email.

13. Contact and complaints

For any privacy question, request or complaint:

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the competent Egyptian data protection authority.
